There are many great people in history. Few have survived for over a thousand years. Abu Nasir al-Farabi, an outstanding thinker from the Kazakh steppes, is such a unique person. An encyclopedist, brilliant philosopher, gifted mathematician, astrologer, music theorist and teacher who created the first constructive pedagogical system in the East, he was the first to comment on the works of the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle.

The scientific holiday of our genius ancestor was celebrated in our country in 1975. Since then, for almost half a century, many good deeds have been performed in the spirit of the great sage. We hope that this encyclopedia, first published this year on the occasion of the 1150th anniversary of the scientist, will become the sacred spiritual heritage of every Kazakh.
