The book is dedicated to the outstanding scientist, organizer of science in Kazakhstan, Hero of Socialist Labor, laureate of the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR, honored worker of science, organizer and first director of the Institute of Organic Catalysis and Electrochemistry of the NAS of the Republic of Kazakhstan, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR Dmitry Vladimirovich Sokolsky.

The publication presents selected works, essays, memoirs of relatives, friends, colleagues, students and like-minded people, as well as archival data and photographs of different years. Particular attention is paid to Sokolsky’s active work in organizing and introducing into production new catalysts and technologies developed by him together with students.
