The book tells about a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a prominent state figure of Kazakhstan, Honorary Citizen of Almaty, retired colonel Sultan Suleimenuly Zhienbaev. Volunteering for the front, he valiantly fought as part of the 100th Kazakh Separate National Rifle Brigade. S. Zhienbaev for many years held leadership positions in the national economy systems of the Kazakh SSR, state and party bodies, was a close associate of D.A. Konayev.

The book contains archival materials, memoirs of fellow soldiers, contemporaries and relatives, media publications, as well as photographs from the family archive of S.S. Zhienbaev.
